Garden visiting is always popular.
Many of the gardens are private and only open to visits by JGS members. Some are professionally maintained and many of historic significance.
Often our trips are to see other member’s gardens which are of all sizes and standards. This is a chance to see what others have achieved and to gain some inspiration to build your own Japanese style garden.
We organise very popular workshops where members can help build gardens, maintain gardens and learn new skills such as pine pruning and Japanese decorative knot tying.
Many of our members have extensive experience and skills in building Japanese style garden and are able to offer advice and help to other members.
These events are always well attended and enjoyed as much for the social side as the educational.
