This is an opportunity to get some 'hands on' tuition in the art of Pine pruning in a private JGS member's garden.
The day will feature a programme of informal group discussions and demonstrations on: Rock placement by Roger Carpenter Maintaining and pruning Acers by Andrew Deighton The rationale and design of Zen gardens.by Alan Clements An introduction to Bonsai by Jon Oneill The art of Tai Chi.by Kenn Griffiths Japanese story telling by Gillian Shimwell
This is an opportunity to observe experts in the second year of pruning and shaping some Scots pines. Our experts will also be demonstrating the first pruning and shaping of a Japanese holly or Ilex Crenata.
This time at our culture day we will be bringing you varied presentations/demonstrations including Ikebana, Japanese lacquer (uroshi), surprising uses of Origami and hopefully some story-telling.
